Did you know that almost every day the Museum hosts programs that tell the Story of Texas to diverse audiences, including families, history buffs, school groups, and Scouts? On our Adult Education Events and Programs page, learn more about programs associated with the special exhibition Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island, including:
• Gateway Conversations facilitated tours
• High Noon Talks -- engaging conversations in the exhibits
• Altered Lives: An Immigration Film Series
• Transformative Journeys: A Symposium with visiting artists

On our Family Events and Programs page, learn about education programs for families and youth, including:
• TEXplorations --Where will your imagination take you? Join us the first Saturday of every month for a story time the whole family will enjoy, and every third Tuesday, 2-4 year olds will enjoy a story time geared just for them with hands-on activities, stories, puppet shows, songs, games, and more. 
• TEXpeditions Summer Camps -- weekly camps for kids ages 7 - 12 based on Texas themes, including pioneer settlements, nocturnal plant and animal life, and archaeology!
• Explore the Story programs -- connect your own stories with the stories in the current special exhibit. Upcoming programs include meeting children's authors, learning classical Indian dances, a youth theatre showcase, and youth film premiere

We also have programs exclusively for Museum Members. TEXcursions are history-based field trips. Past TEXcursions have included trips to Johnson Space Center, Washington-on-the-Brazos, and a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Buchanan.
